Blood Donation
Blood bank in an effort to save lives
MAH developed a blood bank in an effort to save lives of patients in critical care within our hospital and community. Availability of a blood transfusion can be the difference between life and death for those patients who have suffered blood loss through trauma or toxins (example: anticoagulant rodenticide poison) or destruction of a patient’s red blood cells due to immune-mediated hemolytic anemia or ingestion of zinc. Blood is collected from volunteer donor patients, processed, and stored in-house to be used or distributed when needed. We are proud to be bringing this program to our area. Please contact us today to see if your pet meets the criteria to be a donor for the program!
